What does the path name start with?

This is the default path,

filemac:/Smart-Copia HD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Backups/

Ive created another folder in that same folder was like:

filemac:/Smart-Copia HD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Backups/week/

But i cant validate....

Is it a mounted volume?

I believe you can only make a backup on the Server drive not an external volume (like a network drive or an external USB/Firewire drive)

The FMS manual states, you must make a backup on the server then use an OS tool (in your case, applescript) to move the backup to an external drive.

no it isnt external it is in the same drive that the OS and FMS is.
