Range Find problem

Searching the following string "B-CMS-300...B-CMS-400" returns no results. The records are there and this used to work in Filemaker 6.

This happens accessing the file directly or through Filemaker server - no difference.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? A date range search works fine.

Thanks.

Could you give us an example of some of your data, such as records that SHOULD be found, and perhaps records that shouldn't be found? The more information you can give us about your database, the better.

Try searching for:

B CMS 300...400

Our videotape library is setup with numbering for example in the range of B-CMS-300 through B-CMS-400, where the B-CMS- is constant and the numerals increment. There are various designations, but occasionally we may only want display for example the range of B-CMS-310...B-CMS-320. When I try this search I get "No records match this set of find requests."

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, but if searching for B CMS 300...B CMS 400 the find only returns record B-CMS-400.
