August 23, 200817 yr Not positive that I'm understanding what you mean in "Clean Out Records, but if you are wanting to delete old records, then you need to first find those records that are to be deleted. Once you have the records isolated (could be all records???), then just to to the Main Menu >> Records >> Delete Found Records (note: this would be Delete All Records, if All Records is the Found Set) More information about this, and other basic questions can be found in the Online Help that is available when FileMaker is open. There is also a search engine above "(Search) SearchFileMaker.com" that is a little faster, and you can choose other things to search. You will find that FileMaker has done a good job in their User Manual, and the online Help, and they are a good place to look when you feel your question might be a simple one. Deleting records is as good any place to start. Lee Edited August 23, 200817 yr by Guest
August 23, 200817 yr I think you are referring to this... You need to probably trash your filemaker preferences file?!
August 23, 200817 yr Hey Stephen, I forgot about the "[color:blue]FileMaker Quick Start", but you are probably correct in what [color:orange]jjf was asking about. FileMaker Preferences, Menu >> File >> Preferences >> General >> [color:blue]3rd Option, either [color:red]deselect the [color:red]Show recent open files, or change the number. Lee
