The Headache Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Hi Hope I put this in the correct forum, if not please excuse. A while back someone told me you can design and save a solution with FM embedded invisibly behind the scenes so that your client wouldn't have to have FM installed on thier computer. It would be a stand alone application. Any truth to this? And if so how is this done? Thanks.
Lee Smith Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 It is a developer utility, and you need the Advance Edition of FileMaker. You are showing the Standard Edition in your profile. Lee
The Headache Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks Lee I have 8.5 Advanced (Windows) at work. I will have to check it out.
Vaughan Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 FM embedded invisibly behind the scenes Well, the runtime isn't exactly "invisible" in that IIRC there is a splash screen and a closing screen. But it is royalty free and cross platform. Note that the runtime does not have all of the features of the client; notable exceptions are that it is single user (no multi-user shared databases) and no ability to save to pdf.
