External Electronic device?

Hello

I´d like to ask about a plug in or electronic device which resolve an already solution that I Have:

The solution is running for a point of sale restaurant, the orders are controled and reflects the total amount of charge in order to make the payment for each client ( a normal ponit of sales for restaurants) the question here is that I need to make the orders from each several tables of customers, that means that each waitress needs to carry an electronic device that loads filemaker and control the main computer solution in order to make the orders without going to the server, is this possible? do i need a plug in?

I think in Palms with the module of filemaker for palms but I don´t know if it works??? and I already check for this software in the filemaker web site and I think is not avaliable anymore : any info, help please!

The solution is running in Filemaker 9 and running in pc and mac computers.

Perhaps FMTouch could work. Good timing since Apple just this week dropped the price of an iPod Touch to $229.
