September 12, 200817 yr Newbies Hello, A customer have two different layouts, one with logo, and the other one without it. He wants an unique layout with a checkbox asking "Do you want the logo?". With the checkbox is checked, it will print with logo. If not, it will print it with without it, because it is already at the paper. I have tried with buttons, without success. The checkboxes must be from a field in the datebase! Any ideas? I have search in google, in the filemaker training series, and I do not know how to do it yet : Thank you very much in advance. September 12, 200817 yr That need 3 fields: 1) Logo ( container global field ) 2) Flag ( number field formatted as checkbox with a custom value list = 1 ) 3) cLogo ( calculation field, result container and calc: Case( Flag; Logo ) On the print layout you put only the cLogo field and the Flag field ( this one setted as not printable ); when the user checks the lonely checkbox of Flag, Logo appears.
September 12, 200817 yr There are a few different ways to do this. In general it's easier to use a relationship or calculation rather than maintain more layouts. See attached file for a bare bones example. logo.zip
September 12, 200817 yr Hi Fitch your way can solve or can't solve... It depends from how many records he have to print with Logo or without. Your way sets all the records of table Display to have ( or to have not ) the logo.
September 12, 200817 yr Thanks for pointing that out Daniele. I wasn't sure whether that was an issue in this situation or not, but you are right to note the distinction.
September 12, 200817 yr This is a modified version of your Logo to suit my example. ( not for you but for the OP : ) logoMod.zip
