Newbies MacGirl1313 Posted September 17, 2008 Newbies Posted September 17, 2008 I have run in to an issue that only occurs on windows platform PCs. I have tried it on 3 machines so far and have the same problems on all. when in a database, do a find (control + F) enter a value in the first field, and then add a new request (Control + N) and nothing happens when you use the key command. If you select "New Request from the Request menu, it works. All the macs we have in the office work when this action is done, but the windows machines just dont want to. Has anyone experienced this or know what the fix could be? Any help is appreciated!!!!
Raybaudi Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Hi no problem on my win platform; Control + N works as expected.
Lee Smith Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Not a Window person, but by chance is this a wireless keyboard? I use one, and I can remap the keys for control, command, and option. Does the Key Combo work in other programs, such as word? HTH Lee
Josh Ormond Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I think Lee is right... Sounds like your keyboards have a "Function Lock" similar to the Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock. It allows you to double the number of functions assigned to the function keys.
Vaughan Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Is a custom menu active that has disabled the Ctrl+N in find mode?
