"not closed properly" when copied

Featured Replies

I've got a file in 9 that is being served by FMS9. When making changes, I close the file from within server and stop the server, then open the file in FM9A.

If I open the file from directly within the Database folder it seems fine. But if I copy the file to the desktop and open the copy, I get a "File wasn't closed properly, performing consistency check..." message.

This seems pretty unusual. Why is copying a file causing the FM9 check to fail? Is the file not REALLY closed?

Thanks,

David

Next time try this. Use FMS to create a server backup copy of the files and then try opening those to see if you get the message.

Simply copying the files should not prompt a consistency check messge. eerrrr unless perhaps the files did not properly close even though it said it did.
