Hi Guyz,

I have built a 10day time trial demo.

I want to know if anyone can unlock it.

If you do, please re-post the file and share

it with the community.

I have not removed the Admin user and

I am even happy to give out the admin password.

I am no hacker. All it took was to activate script debugger, open the file and kill the script before it could run. I suppose there are other ways.

don't bother with version 2.

I tried as you said.

I ran script debugger and killed the script.

How sad... :

I can't believe how poor filemaker security is.

It has nothing to do with Filemaker security. I had a master password, and I accessed the file. The only thing that failed was your method of trying to implement your own security mechanism.

If you tie something like this to an Opening script it is completely trivial to prevent its running since there are numerous ways to prevent an Opening script from running. And this can be done with or without a [Full Access] Account in almost every instance.

I would recomend reading up on FileMaker Pro security before making blanket statements about its level of security.

I do not want to abuse my role as Moderator here or to abuse Dr. Dolenski's Forum by giving commercials here for my own work. However you might take a look at FileMaker Security: The Book or at FileMaker Pro Security Tutorial videos or at the FileMaker Training Series classes that John Mark Osborne and I teach.
