November 4, 200817 yr I'm familiar with "tab order" and pressing the tab key to move my cursor to the next field but I'm looking to automate the process. With a telephone area code field and a telephone exchange field, (set to a max 3 characters in each), while performing a find, as soon as the area code field has three numbers entered, I'd like the cursor to move to the telephone exchange field. I'm looking to type six numbers and have only three in each field. I'm told that almost anything is possible with Filemaker, so perhaps Filemaker Pro Advanced 8 can do this?
November 4, 200817 yr by use of an event script trigger plugin you may be able to achieve this type of request. Like ZippScript http://www.filemakermagazine.com/plugins/zippscript.html
November 4, 200817 yr I don't believe any script trigger plugin will trigger until you exit the field, so that won't work. If you are crazy enough you might enter the data in a web viewer, as this can be done with Javascript. You'd have to use a plugin that can communicate with the web viewer such as MBS or Fusion Reactor to get the result. Way to much trouble IMO for an effect that is of questionable value to the user.
November 6, 200817 yr Author Seems like this is not something Filemaker can accomplish stand alone. Thank you for your suggestions.
