I am trying to check a checkbox in a value list for a found set, but can't find an automated way to do it. Anyone able to help me? or do you need more information?

thanks

A checkbox is based on a list of values, this list can be either hard coded, or base on a field.

The choices for the checkboxes will stay constant, no matter what records are in your found set.

You are probably trying to have a conditional value list, such as seen here, click

Thanks, but what i'm trying to do is copy one check box from a very large value list, and transfer the records for that one value into a new value list.

We have a large database, which over the years has been managed, rearranged, and abused by many. Our "mailing list categories" value list has dozens of values for particular mailings over the years, but i want to take a couple of those mailing checkboxes, and transfer them to a much smaller, new value list but i can't find a way to transfer the records from the old list to the new list other than finding that set, then going through and checking the new check box one-by-one. There has to be an easier way, but i'm not able to find it. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Check out the Replace command. Be careful, it's not undoable and works with found sets. You can use it to set a field to the same value across found records.

i played with the replace feild contents command, but i couldn't find a way to make it work with checkboxes in different value lists...

I'm not following your needs, then.

How is the Mailing List Categories value list created?

the mailing list is created as a field set to display as a checkbox set displaying values from a value list which is defined with a source of custom values, which is just a list of the different categories.

I am having trouble finding a 'value' assigned to a checked box in order to transfer it over, which is why i was trying to do it with a found set...

i just want records with one of the values checked to also be checked in a new field with a value list. does this clarify at all?

thank you for helping me....
