FileMaker client's computer doesn't "update"

Featured Replies

I have a server computer set up and anywhere from 2 to 6 users logged in at once. When I work on one of the client computers and make changes to the database, the changes aren't reflected on other client computers. The user has to close FileMaker and open everything back up in order for the changes to come up. Thoughts?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi Martha.

The record is definately being committed correct? What is your cache flush level set at onthe Server? Set it for 1 minute.

Sorry - I wasn't clear.

It's not the DATA that isn't updating... it's the STRUCTURE!

I'll add a table and a few relationships. I'll ask the user to go to a layout and the layout will say "Table Missing" all over the place, for anything I've recently added!

Although FM gives us the ability now to work on served solutions, they dont really agree about it. Its like giving the parents car keys to a teenager and them telling them they really shouldnt drive it.

I would start by unserving the files and then save a copy as compact to see it you get anything. Sounds like a possible corruption issue.

Also you may want to reinstall a copy of client on that computer.

Third, check the hardware ( specifically RAM ) on that computer.
