random976 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 using the file attached, how could I loan out several books at once to a single person ? instead of one by one ? thank you. Lending_Library.zip
aldipalo Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Just a quick thought. Why not add another Tab to Contacts (Check Out Items) with a portal to History and add your checked out items from the contact layout?
bruceR Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 using the file attached, how could I loan out several books at once to a single person ? instead of one by one ? thank you. What does that mean?
random976 Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 that FM example lets you issue out a book, but you can only do it one book at a time, I want to issue several books in one transaction.
bcooney Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 then you'll need a child table of loan line items and a portal to it.
bruceR Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 then you'll need a child table of loan line items and a portal to it. But it already has that table; the History table. And both the Contacts and Assets view have the portals. So it still isn't clear what the original poster thinks is missing.
bcooney Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Sorry, didn't bother to look at the template. They're not the best examples of design and data modeling and always cringe when a beginner tries to use them.
aldipalo Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 See previous post. Go to Contact Form View. Is this what you are looking for? Btw, I agree with Barbara, using these templates as your solution is generally not a good way to go. They are good for an example, but, you should try to build your own solution rather than get stuck in to someone elses. Lending_Library_Mod_121708.zip
