Cabinetman Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Is it possible? I tried using a container with a .jpg in it hoping but it didn't show. I want to (easily) show a dialog telling the user where to look for the info with an image example. I know i can create a layout, etc. but was curious and the custom dialog possibility........
Cabinetman Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 :qwery: LOL I don't like that answer... anyone else... LOL
Ocean West Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Use a plugin, they allows you to add small images to a dialog box. http://troi.com/software/dialogplugin.html or http://www.24usoftware.com/SimpleDialog
Fitch Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I'm familiar with Troi Dialog, but in the past their custom graphics have been limited to icons. I see that has changed with the new version 5. Both Troi and 24U have trial versions, so it's worth a look. Also I know you can set a web viewer to fire off a javascript dialog. Can that include a graphic? I don't know.
Cabinetman Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 HHuuummmmm How would you do that, basically?
Fitch Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Web Viewers without the Web : SFR FileMaker Blog Set Web Viewer script step JavaScript dialogs This approach might be workable if it is only an alert or instructional dialog, but if you want to get user input, even just which button was clicked, you'd need a plugin anyway, so might as well use Troi Dialog. (And as I said I do not know how to make a Javascript dialog that includes a graphic.)
Cabinetman Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 This is only for instructional..... The .jpeg shows where to find the info they need in a web browser by moving the courser over a certain text. I guess I could open a window with a web viewer set to the jpeg and a continue button.... just trying to get away without creating another layout.
Fitch Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Limiting the number of layouts is a noble goal - perhaps you could make do with a hidden tab panel? (Now we're getting a bit off topic.)
