liltbrockie Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Hi.. i'm wondering if there is a barcode solution for filemaker.. basically for warehouse goods in and out.. we need a portable barcode that can scan goods as they come in .. then go to filemaker... upload the scanned items into filemaker, print of new barcodes etc that kind of thing.. anything available?
mr_vodka Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 You can use a standard portal barcode scanner to scan in your sku and qty. You should then be able to take the text files from the device and import it into FileMaker to update the records. To generate barcodes out of FileMaker, I used to use a plugin, but there should be other options out there.
Jim Dhaem Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 We use wireless Symbol PDT8146 bar code Pocket PCs that run Windows Pocket PC 2003 which allowed us to install Opera 8.65. This version works with Instant Web Publishing. Any pocket PC that runs at least Pocket PC 2003 or above should work with IWP by installing Opera 8.65. These units can be purchased off Ebay for a reasonable price, we get ours for about $275 plus $24 for Opera. Our Warehouse Management system is written in FileMaker Pro Advanced using IWP.
