How do I search and replace hard line breaks in a field. I can't copy paste them... Is there a special character?

this is not the one i mean, in need the symbol for shift-return...

AFAIK, shift-return produces the same character (ASCII 13) as does return. Perhaps you should post a file with a field containing the character you mean.

FileMaker is a bit funny when it comes to special characters. So Comment is right.

If you're wanting to replace line breaks, it's easy enough using the substitute function.
