Caleb
I am trying to create a scheduled backup for every day of the week. Does anyone have a sample script I can use to model after?
bcooney
You've posted in the Scriptmaker forum. That makes me think that you're not referring to FMServer backups. There is no way to write a script to create backups. You need to close FM, and backup the file. Or, buy FMS.
Caleb
Thanks for the info. That seems a little raunchy... I was able to create a simple script that makes a copy of the database every 5th time you exit. Our network server creates a backup every night but I thought there would be a script to backup my FMP database every day as well. There has to be a way to schedule a backup for FMP? bcooney
I'd hope that others will chime in. You're using a FM database from a shared volume on a fileserver? This is not recommended. It should be hosted on a dedicated FMS. And, if you and others are multi-launching this database, your Save As Copy backup will fail if anyone else is in the database, if it works at all. Raunchy...hardly. Edited January 30, 2009 by Guest
