Can't Delete Layout

Featured Replies

Using Trial Version of Pro 10, hosted up for IWP, with one other person updating via web. While I was working in layouts (via program, not web) something glitched (hosting?) resulting in a freeze up. Had to exit and re-open. Now the layout I was working on is blank, no fields, etc. and I can't delete. I would appreciate any thoughts.

Is it the only layout in the file?

If it is the only layout in the file then it cannot be deleted.

No, there are other layouts... I'm stumped.

Sound like your file may be corrupted. If you can get the file back from the hosting point then you can try to recover the file - THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED PRACTICE AND I AM ONLY SUGGESTING IT AS YO ARE TRIALING.

After the recover you may (should) be able to remove or re-use the layout - although I doubt it is much use now as it is empty.

Otherwise you will need a new layout.

Real time hosted development is a dangerous practise anyway, but it depends on your circumstances - I have to do it because I have a 40+ file system running at all times and I cannot stop the server or files (I'm on a 1Gb LAN). Development over an internet connection exposes you to so many possible foul-ups due to bandwidth restrictions.
