February 20, 200916 yr Hello, Does anybody know of any issues with Filemaker Server 9 admin console and the latest Mac OSX Java update 3? Current configuration: I have a Macbook running OSX 10.5.6 that I did the latest Java update 3 on. I am trying to use the admin console to log into a remote iMac running OSX 10.5.6 and filemaker Server 9 advanced (with the filemaker 9.0.3.326 updater installed) but without the Java update 3 installed. When I try to open the admin console on the Macbook it never loads up. I get the Java start up screen that says "Java starting....", but then it just quits. Is this an isolated problem that only I am having, or an issue with the Java update? I am afraid to load the Java update on the server until I hear that filemaker server 9 works with it. thanks!
February 20, 200916 yr Did you try clearing the browser cache yet? There's tech note at FM about this.
February 20, 200916 yr It likely does not work. Earlier versions had to be rolled back to even earlier Java updates. You can [color:red]never presume that everything will continue to work correctly after an OS update or a Service Pack or patch install. Steven
February 23, 200916 yr Author Well, Old Advance Man, you may be right. If so, take this as a warning not to upgrade your mac with the latest Java update (update 3) if you wish to use it to log in to a filemaker 9 admin console. Also, I would not update the computer running server 9 until someone says it works or there is an update. Thanks!
March 4, 200916 yr FWIW -- FileMaker Server 10 works with the Java Update for 10.5.6 Why FileMaker hasn't released an update for FMS 9 -- and it affects both Mac and Windows -- for later Java is pretty surprising.
