I know previous versions of fmp server would not auto run scripts if the script exported something. Does fmp server 10 fix this?

If not, can you run fmp client 10 and fmp server 10 safely on the same box?

Yes to question number 1. FMS10 can import and export but only to certain directories.

As for #2, I wouldnt recommend it if you are trying to connect to the hosted files.
