Selecting Portal Row to Fill Record Fields

Featured Replies

Long time reader, first time poster. Hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I'm having.

I want to track the progress of Applications. Within each application can be a number of clients, so I want to create/list the clients in a Portal within the Application Layout. I also want to click on a specific client within the portal to show the Phone, Email, and Address of that client.

I have attached the sample file I'm working on for your review. I would like the button marked "View" to populate the fields at the bottom showing the Phone, Email and Address fields.

I have found similar posts, but I am a novice and couldn't come up with a solution for my particular file. Hopefully by looking at my file you can recommend a quick and easy solution!

Thanks!

Here's a corrected version. Basically, the technique is to set a global to the ID of the record in the portal row. Then, the fields below in your tab panel use a relationship that includes the global field and the parent recordID (in your case the ApplicationID).
