genr8er Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I need to extract data from an old (1987) Clipper datbase. I am hoping that the data are stored in DBF files. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks!
rigman Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 have you tried to read the data? If FM won't read it, try excel or access. you could then re-import into FM from those. I used to develop under Dbase, and when clipper came out I recall hearing it handled the DBF format, (not sure if this was a default for all solutions) so I could be wrong...
bdam Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 In my experience, DBF files are nothing more than flat-files, that is to say simple text files. As rigman mentions, you should be able to open them in Excel and save as a delimited file.
