stefangs Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 i am new to networking. i have a full copy of 8.5 advanced and a full copy of 10 advanced. i was wondering if i can put my solution on one machine with, say v8.5, and access it from the other machine which has v10 (or vice versa) to test networking.
Josh Ormond Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Since they both use the .fp7 file format yes. Note, however, that there are a number of features that have changed between 8.5 and 10. v10 features will not be available in the 8.5 side.
Vaughan Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 The biggest difference is that the status bar has moved to the top of the window in FMP 10.0, it incorporates the toolbar and the toolbar items can be added or removed by the user. The status area is on the left hand side for all earlier versions and is static.
Josh Ormond Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 And the Self function...I run into a lot of people having a "Function Missing" line in their calcs, when accessing a solution developed in 9/10, using 7/8/8.5.
Vaughan Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 This is easily solved by a startup script that checks the application version.
