Value list with empty values?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a value list, that is based on a field. I have chosen the primary key (autocreated unique number) as the first value and another field from the table as the second value. When i make the value list sort by the first value, everything displays fine. I can see all records from the field. However, when I select to only show values from the second field, some values disappear from the list, and instead the end of the list just displays a bunch of blank values?

What could be the cause of this problem? I checked that neither the key field, nor the second field contains line feeds.

Could you post a file showing this problem?

Yes, I have attached a file showing the problem. When viewing the list sorted by ID, the customers; customeraa1, customeroe2, customerae3 and customeraa4 shows in the top of the list. When vieving sorted by name, the two values containing "aa"; customeraa1 and customeraa4, does not show, but blank lines appear in the bottom of the list. I suspect that filemaker does some kind of weird translation, because "aa" in Danish can be equivalent to the Danish character Å, which is not in the 7 bit charset.

I suspect you are on the right track, because changing the field's language or removing the "aa" make it all right again. Seems like a bug in Danish indexing.

Where whould I go to report such a defect? It exists in the Norwegian indexing, too.
