Is there a way to take a report created using a subsummary part, to excel? I need to keep the format of the report and the subsummary categories in the exported excel file.

Not natively in FileMaker. It will not keep the grouping format. Months ago I tinkered around with using an XSLT but then that project got put on hold indefinitely.
