Automatic Startup without choosing Host then the FP5 fie?

Featured Replies

I currently have a multi-platform solution with about 25 db files that are tied into fmserver. Is it possible on both the mac and pc platforms to send a user directly into the server without choosing host and then the FP5 file?

Only one of the FP5 is not set to Multi-User hidden, so that is the file the users open and attached to that database is the startup script to take them where they need to go. The question is can the user double click an icon or something to that effect from the desktop or start menu or laucher and go directly into the database with the startup script without choosing host and the FP5 file?

Create an "Opener" file. Basically this file will have a script, set to run on startup, which opens the appropriate files and leaves your user where you want them.

I am using the same even through Internet and Firewalls, no problem.

You can use an alias on the clients to start the file

Not when hosting a DB on FMP Server. There are not any "files" to launch or alias.
