rain_girl Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) I am trying to swap out files in my data folder. I cannot change the file permissions to fmserver/fmsadmin - even if I chose the folder and try to apply the permissions to the everything in the folder. I have tried moving the files outside of the fm data folder but the fmserver/fmsadmin choices are not available in my list of people. Any ideas?? Using Edited May 29, 2009 by Guest
Wim Decorte Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 What kind of errors are you getting. Try using the freeware BatchMod utility to help you out.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 As always, Wim's suggestion is a good one. Unfortunately the apply to enclosed items options frequently fails in OS X. Sometimes you have to set the files individually. An alternative may be to remove all files, then upload them with the Console's Upload Assistant. That supposedly sets the permissions correctly. JLanclos Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Setting file permissions individually for us since there is not an fmsadmin and fmsuser account on our FileMaker Server machine. Do not drag the files to the Data folder. Use the servers upload button to import the files into the Data folder and the permissions will be correctly set for you
