Show button if fied is not empty

Hi all,

I presume I would do this with some form of self-join relationship but cannot really get my head around how to go about this.

I have a layout with 10 container fields on there.

Document1

Document2

Document3

...

I would like to set a button next to each field "VIEW" but I would only want this button to show if there is something to view in the container field.

The actual script behind the button is all sorted, I am just struggling working out the button show/hide.

Would I put each button into it's own portal which was based on a self join relationship, if so what would the self join relationship be based upon?

Many thanks for any help you can give

Ed

The best way to do this, I think, would be to keep the documents as individual records in a related table, and show them in a portal.

Of course... far far easier than what I was trying to achieve. Thanks for showing me the light!
