Philby Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hello, I am trying to enable access restrictions to certain IP addresses in Sever 10. I would like to have all local addresses 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 and one remote site address. It doesn't like wild cards like 192.168.1.* Is there a way to add a range of addresses? I can find any documentation.
IdealData Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 If you're meaning the Admin Console > General Settings > Restrict Access then that is only to do with the Admin Console access, not the databases. The IP addresses should be comma delimited.
Philby Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 That is where I was looking. Is there a way to restrict database access by IP address? Or, can you only use usernames/passwords?
Steven H. Blackwell Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Is there a way to restrict database access by IP address? Certainly from outside your LAN or its subnet. Within the same, possibly, but it would require some complex scripting and calculations and is not ironclad. What are yu trying to accomplish to to prevent here? Steven
