January 11, 200124 yr Newbies What are the limitations on # of records / file size with FM5 Server? We are currently running 2 NT 3.0 Servers and have files that are getting close to the 250MB limit of FM4. We are considering upgrading 80 seats and the servers soon, but need much more storage capacity for some future projects.

The number of records is totally dependant on the structure and what is stored in the records. I might suggest an upgrade to FM Server 5.0, for the additional files and user it supports. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
October 17, 200322 yr Newbies Excuse me! Do you know the file structure of FM ? I would like to ask size of header file, index file,........how many bytes do FM provide for a database? Thanks, TV.
October 17, 200322 yr Filemaker contains all data within a single file (unlike systems such as dBase which used a seperate file for each index and such). So the size of any given piece is impossible to determine.
