Hi,

I have installed FileMaker Pro Server 5 on a Windows 2000 Server.

The problem is that the FileMaker service will not start. It returns a service specific error code 22.

Apparently this indicates either that the chosen protocol is not installed or not correctly configured.

This happens when TCP/IP is the chosen protocol. The service will start though if IPX is chosen instead.

I have 2 network cards in this server that both have individual static ip addresses.

Now I know that TCP/IP is correctly configured as I have users that connect to the Extensis Portfolio server on this box via IP.

Does anybody have any ideas ?

Many thanks.

I would hesitate to use FM on W2000. It is probably still not certified.

I think the problem is the 2 installed network cards. FileMaker does not recommend using more than one network card when running FMP Server. My guess is that FMS can only bind to 1 card or IP address.

On NT 4 server we have 2 network cards and no problema. Again I think more of 2000 issues.
