Simon UK Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Hi, Just converted from Access to FM. Why does anybody use Access???? Wondering whether anybody can help me omit blank address rows when creating a letter i.e. I have fields as follows: Add1 Add2 Town County Postcode and of course not all addresses have an Add2 so any ideas on how to omit this when using the fileds in a letter?? Apologies if this is basic! Kindest regards, Simon
IdealData Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Welcome Simon What you are looking for is "Set Sliding/Printing" - it's on the Format menu when in Layout mode - select a field and then set the sliding/printing properties. More in the help system. BTW, if you think FM is good, get yourself a Mac and run it on that - you'll be in heaven!
Simon UK Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 Hi, Many many thanks for that. Simple eh? When you know how! My colleague is insisting I get a Mac. I just can't live in a world with only 1 mouse button, it's just too weird! Maybe one day. Thanks again, Simon
Simon UK Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 No way, in that case I have to get one!!! Since last posting am becoming a Mac convert. Due a laptop upgrade in 2-3 months and I feel a visit to my local Apple store is needed! I just love Filemaker and can't believe how easy it is to get started but how powerful it is too. Brilliant. Bye, Simon
