Are there any compatibility issues between Filemaker Server and a Novell network? We're considering purchasing Filemaker for the entire office, but want to make sure it will work before we invest all that money.

Filemaker Server only works with TCP/IP and Appletalk protocols, so make sure that you are running TCP/IP as your network protocol. Typcially Novell nets are running IPX only.

FileMaker can run on IPX/SPX protocol as well.

However, TCP/IP is better.

Hopefully I will check Server tomorrow.

On my NT server FM can serve data on networks:

1. TCP/IP

2. IPX

3. Both
