sicSRT8 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Is it possible to add users once you have compiled the runtime?
jamesducker Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I don't think so. You can however open the .USR file in ordinary FileMaker Pro Advanced, change your privileges etc and then make a new* runtime from it. The data will stay intact. Hope that helps. James
Fitch Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Did you want users to have this ability? You can use the Account management script steps in a runtime. Make sure to select the "run with full access" checkbox in the script. Or, if you open the file with FileMaker Pro as James suggests, you can use the updated file as is, you don't have to rebind it.
sicSRT8 Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 when you say opened in FM advance I get this. "The translator for this file could not be found or could not be initialized." I converted to runtime and trying to open in FM 10 Adv.
jamesducker Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 (edited) The only file you will be able to open in FileMaker Advanced is the one ending in .USR. Try renaming it from whatever.USR to whatever.fp7, that may help. Failing that try doing File -> Open from within FileMaker and locating the .usr/.fp7 file from there. J Edited July 9, 2009 by Guest
