Tombstone0 Posted May 7, 2001 Posted May 7, 2001 I recently updated my company's filemaker pro server from 3 to 5. For some reason the users from our remote offices can't connect. The server is running on a mac with TCP/IP networking with remote file access enabled. I've also had a report that 5.5 works but that's not exactly a resonable option right now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
xmunx Posted May 9, 2001 Posted May 9, 2001 I agree, check to see if the firewall/proxy is blocking access to port 5003.
Newbies Sharkey Posted May 10, 2001 Newbies Posted May 10, 2001 I have a similar problem: Remote office users keep getting filemaker message "you have been disconnected from server", with no apparent pattern. They are using WINGATE to share an IP address/DSL. How do I check the port 5003 settings (mentioned in previous response)? And do I check it at the main office or the remote?
norwood Posted May 11, 2001 Posted May 11, 2001 Perhaps a dumb question, but have your remote users upgrade to FileMaker 5 clients? FM 5 server requires FM 5 clients... Matt
