I have a field that looks up qty based on the selection of another field. It works but when i clear out the item number the qty remains in the lookup field. How can I get this to clear out when nothing is selected?

Turn to an autoenter calc' instead, with the update option chosen ...but have in mind when Lookups are needed in the first place ...namely to provie a snapshot when say a line in an invioice is made. If a charter'ish system of ordering in a flucative price level.

But if autoenters with the update option can work in the situation, does it actually create a redundant storage, which instead speaks in favour of live relations.

As you can see is it not a fully legitimate question to raise, without telling exactly why the de-normalization is urged here? Please fill us in on context and purpose, instead of letting us stab in the dark.
