sicSRT8 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I have a field set to creation date but when I import my records its not showing up as a new record? It is considered a new record right?
LaRetta Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 "It is considered a new record right? " I don't know ... is it? If it wasn't in the table before and you import using ADD then it will be a new record and should get the creation date. When you import, do you remember to CHECK the box 'perform auto-enter'? That will make the difference, I think. :wink2:
sicSRT8 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Which check box? In the script I wasn't able to find what your referring to.
LaRetta Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 If you have a field defined with an auto-enter 'creation date' then imports will pause and produce a dialog box titled IMPORT OPTIONS and there is a check box for 'perform auto-enter options while importing' (it will pop up right after you map your fields). You must check this. If the box doesn't come up then you have not defined the field to be an auto-enter 'creation date' yet.
sicSRT8 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 I have it set to no Dialog but not seeing anything regarding autoenter in the box that I select where fields match up... Do you by chance have a screen shot of where I would find this cause I cant find it anywhere? Please : Thanks
sicSRT8 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Wait do you mean that I need a field to match up to the creation date field for it to register a new entry.
sicSRT8 Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) Wait a sec nevermind found it... it only pops up when you hit OK i was just closing it... trying it out right now. UPDATE: That works thank you! Edited July 15, 2009 by Guest
