Newbies MikeyG79 Posted July 27, 2009 Newbies Share Posted July 27, 2009 A product I've inherited lets users write letters. Works great for 1 page printing, but they've asked if it would be possible to have it print a multipage document. This is what I'd like to do - don't know if it's possible or how to do it... Header - at the top Body - uses as many or as few pages as it needs Footer - bottom of last page
efen
Make your print layout as long as the longest letter will be (FileMaker maximum is ten pages, I think) with header and footer. Insert the fields you want to print as a merged field. With the field selected, from the Format drop down menu select sliding/printing. Select "sliding up .." and also select "...reduce size of enclosing part". When printed/previewed the field will contract to the amount of text. IdealData
If your letter 'pages' were in a related table then you could have an infinitely long document.
Newbies MikeyG79 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Newbies Share Posted July 28, 2009 If your letter 'pages' were in a related table then you could have an infinitely long document. How does that work? Right now the "body" is a single text field that is typed in. How can it be bigger than I make it in the layout?
