I was just thrown onto this project and get some issues sorted out. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to tell which user has what license code? Can it be determined by Machine Name? Can all this be done from the server as users are logged into FMP5?

I need to get a list sorted out of who has what. Anyone know anything about this?

There is no way to back this information out of FM. If there was it would be too easy to copy and pirate copies just by looking at a copy on someone's machine. You need to institute a record keeping system which matches install codes to machines and locations. If you have a site license, there is only one code (or a few, if you have multiple FM Server copies, each has a unique code).

Not 100% true.

The Info displays most of the installation code, last 3 numbers are changed to XXX.

Possible solution: start all machines with FM on network and try to install another license number, if it is used you'll know fast
