I am looking for ideas on making my navigation dynamic and not having to maintain static navigation buttons/labels. Any ideas of where I can look for ideas?

Given that you are a FM Developer and rate yourself an Expert, I'll assume the obvious stuff is apparent to you.

Any indirection methods I've seen rely heavily on layout naming conventions (and I'm not comfortable with that).

To a certain extent, a button labeled Main Menu is hard-coded and imho, justifiably so.

What are the shortcomings of what you have, specifically?
