inserting a record between existing records

Featured Replies

:bang: I have to make a database for a friend who has garden shows . there are spaces for each show at specific tables. the majority of the exhibitors are the same and he prints out a roster. the naming is as follows;

1st table = A

the 4th exhibitor = 4

so the printout becomes A;4 = jeremy's garden

in the database it would say

table a

3rd space = Melissa's flowers

table a

4th space = Jeremy's garden

table a

5th space = Patane's Landscaping

but sometimes for whatever reason someone new is inserted between , or ex. jeremy's garden and Patane's landscaping

this changes Patane's Landscaping to number 6 at the table instead of 5 .

He will have to generate a list with the proper assignments and they change all the time . I need a script that will automatically insert the newcomer and renumber the assignments and change the calc data because I have fields which say you are with such and such on your right and such and such on your left. Need some help here.

You may be able to modify a solution as such to fit your needs.
