Is there any application that can do real time file mirroring for filemaker?

The problem with most applications is with large files (5 Gb+). They copy the whole file instead of just the modified bytes.

You could be headed for trouble here. Not 100% certain, but live mirroring of FMP files might not be such a good idea.

Take a look at the Critical Backups Case Study from Linear Blue to see how they addressed this same type issue.

an alternative would be to try a RAID mirror. Either a hardware or software RAID would do it.

Actually, the disk on the server is a mirror hd. The problem is we had an hd failure and before we notice that the problem was an hd, it took a few hours.

Right now, I'm testing with mirrorfolder which copy the fp7 files to a server in raid-1 style.

Software RAID [color:red]should notbe used with FileMaker Server. It can interfere with I/O.
