Ralph Schwegler Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I'm really desperate... I just upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6, and I cannot start any of the databases I develop. The results is a application crash (libFontParser.dylib). Is there some kind of font cache I could delete. Or is there any other hint? Thank you for your advice.
bcooney Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 From what I've read on TechNet, you might try removing all fonts older than 2006.
Ralph Schwegler Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 thank you for your advice, do you have any link for this? well, this is not really an option. the machines are used at graphic buros, and they have bought tons of fonts in the 15 past years... 10.6.1 does not help, i hope filemaker will come with an update or i get any other hint
bcooney Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I can't link to TechNet, as it is a forum for which you pay a fee.
rivet Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 just ran into similar trouble. The problem was, the fonts that were being used in Filemaker were Type1. Using TransType, we converted the fonts to TrueType and we are back in business. I am sure future update of 10.6 will take care of this, but in the meantime this will do.
Ralph Schwegler Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Still with 10.5.x, but hoping for upcoming 10.6.3!
