Here's a very simple question:

What is the purpose of the vertical line that shows up on the right side of a layout? You can move it from side to side in layout mode but it doesn't show up in Browse or Preview mode and doesn't seem to effect pagination.

I believe its a T-Square. For alignment and such. I don't use it but some do. Ctrl + T or Command + T turns it off.

Also, View > T-Squares (thats on my Mac) toggles it.
