weird results from calculation

ok, so, i'm trying to create a simple field that will show the number of found records when the user is filtering in find mode. basically, i just want to recreate what filemaker already has showing in the top menu bar...like this:

but when i do it....it comes out like this....

what could i be doing wrong?

Make sure you are using an unstored calculation field.

ok, i've been working really hard at trying to figure this out myself...but i'm f@#$ing clueless now. hahaha. i can't really post the database cause it would take too much time to strip the private data. but what did you mean by 'stored' field? you mean global?

No, I mean 'Do not store calculation results -- recalculate when needed'.
