Norvin Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 My company is looking at switching to a web hosted version of MS Exchange in an effort to better manage our emails. We have multiple office locations so the idea is to consolidate all email communication to single a server (in the clouds) using the web hosted version of Outlook 2007. Currently each location does a good portion of email from Filemaker using the client version of Outlook Express. The offices are small so each is set up in a peer to peer environment. The company we are talking to has no experience with Filemaker but say it should not be a problem to switch to the web hosted Outlook 2007. Can anyone tell me if this is doable and what considerations we should be aware of with such an arrangement? Thanks.
IdealData Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) AFAIK the only supported e-mail clients on Windows are Outlook and Outlook Express. Officially the application must be MAPI compliant. I'm guessing that the "web based Outlook 2007" won't be recognised as a valid client. Let us all know how your tests go. Norvin Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 I'll try to report back the outcome. It may be a while, we are just now in the talking stage. Thanks for responding.
