Ninjapowa Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Hello! I'm trying to create a dynamic layout that changes the number of pages depending on what the user selects. For example, I want the user to start off with one page of general information. This is already done and is normal. I have a field that is default "1" (for 1 page), and I want to be able to change this field to tell filemaker to add more pages because I want to add more information on multiple pages. So if I type in "3" in that field, I want Filemaker to add 2 other pages automatically to the same record (equivalent to dragging the BODY splitter down manually) so I can display other info. Is this possible? thanks!
Fitch Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 No, you can't control layout parts programmatically. You might want to think about using a tab object. If you really want to stick with your concept, you could make several layouts, and use script triggers (with FM9 you'd need a plugin) to go to the target layout when you type the number. What are you trying to accomplish? You can make a scrolling text field for data entry and then make a huge tall layout for printing, set to slide up and reduce the size of the part.
