I have a script that saves records as Excel. One of the fields is a long descriptive text field.

It seems like the default Excel field formatting for that field is "text", but when a "text" field has more than 255 characters, the text gets hashed out (####) on display.

Changing the format of the cells to "General" fixes the display problem.

Is there a way to change this default formatting from within Filemaker?

Thanks,

DJ
