November 7, 200025 yr I've got a bundled FMP solution that I need to create a windows installer for which will not only place the files on the hard drive, but also create a program group for them so that they can be launched from the Start menu. Does anyone have a good recommendation for the easiest way to do this? This doesn't yet come up for me a lot, so I'm hesitant to spend upwards of $500 to buy Install Shield or Install VISE. If there isn't an inexpensive solution to this, and someone here can do this for me, I might be willing to farm it out. Thanks, Chuck

Thanks, Chuck Hi Chuck: I don't know the answer to your question, but I've got to do the same thing within the next 3 weeks or so. I posted this very question over a month ago and got no responses. InstallShield makes a product called InstallShield Express for Windows 9X and NT that only costs $240, but I don't know what's missing from this 'Lite' edition. Try 'Provantage' at 800-336-1166 for more info...they sell programmer stuff. Maybe we can work together? Steve

Thanks, Chuck Hi Chuck: You started me on a search, and I found a free installer that seems to have a wide market. Go to 'www.jrsoftware.org'. There are also free enhancements available (like a scriptmaker) from other authors with links at this site. Steve
