Newbies CasparL Posted December 30, 2009 Newbies Share Posted December 30, 2009 I could not find a better forum for this, so please tell me if i posted it wrong and where i should have posted it. I am trying to print with filemaker pro 4.1 and i get the error "Printer is not connected to a port". I have added a new printer and removed the old after this. And also i have tried to reset the profile, added the printer again, and tried again. The printers that are used are network printers. Does anyone have an idea on how i should resolve this issue. Lee Smith Posted December 30, 2009 Share Posted December 30, 2009 I'm not a windows person, but could this be that the drivers for your printer are not compatible with Windows 2003. Usually we advise users to be sure they have the most recent drivers for their New Operating System. IdealData Posted December 30, 2009 Share Posted December 30, 2009 Even though FM may appear to be working there is no guarantee that all functionality can be supported on a non supported OS. The fact that other applications are working suggests that: 1. The other applications are supported correctly for the OS 2. Lee Smith Posted December 31, 2009 Share Posted December 31, 2009 I repeat my thought above. This sounds like a driver problem. According to this site Link the printer isn't compatible, or supported for use with WIN 95/98. I suggest that you discuss this problem with the printer manufacture to see if there is a work around.
